A month ago, the American streaming giant Netflix announced the upcoming deployment of a brand new interface. She finally arrives in France, we reveal to you what she will look like.
If there is one thing that the competitors of Netflix jealous of him, it is his interface. Whether on phone, computer or television, subscribers evolve with certain ease between the categories of films and series, the new features, the top 10 and the recommendations, based on a powerful algorithm. In 12 years, the American giant had never really redesigned the design of its platform. Until today.
A month ago, Netflix announced to the press that he worked on a new interface, more in line with current requests and technology.
Which will change with this new Netflix interface
If you have a connected television at home, then you are one of the lucky ones to discover the new home page in preview. And what strikes first is the size of the posters: “Thanks to this, we will display more information to help you make a better decision. Instead of seeing 20 or 30 titles at a time, you now see the information at a glance,” said a spokesman for Netflix.
No need to click on the sheet to see the synopsis. And finished the evenings to scroll on your TV or your phone since the goal is to reduce the search time to the maximum. On the phone, this is accompanied by a verticalization of the Tiktok -style application with extracts from series or films chosen by an artificial intelligence.
The video demo above gives a good overview of who awaits the French subscribers, and on all the devices:

Your moods as a recommendation tool
Netflix also associated itself with Open AI (the company behind Chat GPT) to adapt its search engine. Thus, the spectator will be able to share his mood and the kind of program he wishes to watch: he will then be offered a list of series, films or events to watch. A tool that aims to be intuitive and malleable, to meet ever more growing demand.
For the moment, this new tool is in testing in New Zealand and in Australia and is not yet proposed in other territories. But that cannot be long, if the result is quite satisfactory.
What will disappear
This new interface is accompanied by changes, which could well destabilize certain spectators. Netflix completely reviews its search bar and makes three tabs disappear which were however particularly used by subscribers:
- The most watched novelties
The latter made it possible to see on the same page the two tops 10, the series and films that arrived in the week and the most anticipated programs on the platform. These three headings are replaced and coupled in “My Netflix”: you will find the programs under viewing, those you have liked and those you have put aside “for later”.
Obviously, all of this is accompanied by a new price increase. It remains to be seen how French subscribers will react to these changes.
