The sneakerboot trend is well and truly in full flow currently, and it was only a matter of time before New Balance also jumped on the hype. They’ve decided to utilise one of their most popular silhouettes, the retro looking 990v4.
The sneakerboot style is always a key trend every winter, however this year it seems to be bigger than ever, with every brand under the sun turning their popular models into bulked up, high top boots. The latest brand to jump on the trend is New Balance. With their 990v4 silhouette being extremely popular at the moment, due to the “dad sneaker” trend, it only seemed right that they used it. It’s already a bulky looking sneaker, so it also suited the style extremely well.
The silhouette is launching in two colourways, the classic OG grey that the 990v4 is known for, and a new triple black colourway that’s equally as clean. New Balance’s Encap technology can be found underfoot, allowing for maximum wearability and comfort. Other notable additions include the use of Cordura material, which is known for being extremely robust and durable, and the addition of boot style lace loops on the upper.
If you’re keen on getting your hands on a pair of these winterised New Balance’s, they’ll be seeing a global release via select retailers, and New Balance directly from the 18th of November. There’s been no word on how limited the release will be yet, however we’ll be sure to keep you updated as soon as we know more.
