Netflix relaunches its horrific franchise “Fear Street” with a fourth part located in the 80s, between references, bloody killings and promo ball that turns into a nightmare.
Four years ago, Netflix seized the literary series of terror Fear Street from RL Stine, the creator of Goosebumpsfor an effective and bloody triptych released in 2021.
This series of novels, which has more than fifty volumes, had been adapted in three films by the platform, each devoted to an era: Fear Street: 1994, Fear Street: 1978 and Fear Street: 1666 (with Sadie Sink de Stranger Things).
Four years later, the Fear Street franchise is relaunched by Netflix with a fourth part, which brings us back this time in the 1980s. The horror frankness of the platform returns with an ever more bloody and ultra -referenced film.
Lots of blood and an atmosphere at the “Carrie”, “Remember last summer” and “Scream”
From the novel The Ball of Death (1990), this fourth feature film of the horrific franchise of Netflix, entitled Fear Street: Prom Queen, brings us to Shadyside in 1988. As its name suggests, the season of end-of-year promo balls will be the scene of bloody events.
The most popular students in high school lead a ruthless campaign in the hope of winning the crown. But when an unusual and daring candidate enters the race and her competitors mysteriously disappear, the promotion of 1988 is preparing to live an unforgettable and nightmarish ball night …
The distribution of the film co -written and directed by Matt Palmer includes Arianna Greenblatt (Avengers: Infinity War, Barbie), Suzanna Son (Red Rocket), Chris Klein (American Pie), Katherine Waterston (Fantastic Beasts, Babylon), India Fowler (The Agency), Lili Taylor (Six Feet Under), among others.
Like the previous “Fear Street”, expect tears, cries and very bloody and impressive killings! Above all, Fear Street: Prom Queen should appeal to fans of cult slashers.
We think of Carrie at the devil's ball, for this harassed heroine and mocked by her comrades and the bloody sequence of the promo ball, which will upset her life and that of other students.
We also think of Scream because the heroine of Fear Street: Prom Queen is ostracized in clean city due to a tragedy that involves her parents earlier like Sydney Prescott and the identity of the killer, who is obsessed with her.
Horror fans will also think of remembering last summer for the Ciré – Rouge killer, here – and his way of appearing by surprise in the dark for spectacular killings.
The film “Fear Street: Prom Queen” will be available on May 23 on Netflix.
