History

In March 1972, the Nike Bruin debuted at Portland’s Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The simplistic design was an instant success, featuring a white suede upper, autoclave outsoles and the iconic red nike swoosh. This is popularly known as the birth of Nike Basketball.

In recent years, the Nike Bruin has been re-released as the NikeLab Bruin Leather and is also available in a Nike Bruin SB model with a Zoom insole. The leather option is a close replica of the original Bruin, with full-grain leather upper and cupsoles as apposed to the original suede upper and autoclave sole. Since then, Nike have product several different colourways and material options – however, the style remains the same.
