Common Problems and Solutions

1. “Mobile Number Not Linked to Aadhaar”

  • Problem: The CSC operator cannot verify your identity.

  • Solution: Visit the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra or Post Office to link your current mobile number to Aadhaar. This takes 24-48 hours to update.

2. “Biometric Mismatch” (Fingerprint not working)

  • Problem: The scanner does not accept your fingerprint due to worn-out skin (common for manual workers).

  • Solution: Ask the CSC operator to try the Iris Scanner (Eye scan) if they have one. Alternatively, update your biometrics at an Aadhaar centre.

3. “Ration Card Data Mismatch”

  • Problem: Family members’ names do not show up automatically.

  • Solution: You can manually add family members by providing their Aadhaar numbers. Ensure you carry their Aadhaar cards to the CSC.

4. “Application Pending at Gram Panchayat”

  • Problem: Status shows pending for a long time.

  • Solution: Contact your Sarpanch or Panchayat Secretary. They have a separate login to approve artisans at the village level. They physically verify that you actually work in that trade.

5. “Wrong Trade Selected”

  • Problem: You selected ‘Carpenter’ but you are actually a ‘Blacksmith’.

  • Solution: This is difficult to change later. Double-check the trade selection before the CSC operator hits “Submit”. If submitted, the Gram Panchayat can reject it so you can re-apply, but this is a long process.
