“Alive or dead, you’re coming with me!” The classic RoboCop movies, especially the original, were a groundbreaking take on crime and policing in a near-future version of Detroit. Although the reality surrounding those things has moved in a much different direction than the movie predicted, it’s still a great concept and a wonderful piece of 80s nostalgia. However, RoboCop was never really done justice when translated into games. We got some early games on systems like the NES and SNES, but they weren’t really able to capture the feeling of being a tank driving through the streets of Detroit.

First announced in 2021, RoboCop: Wicked City Ultimately wants to put you behind the mask of RoboCop. However, being such a beloved film, there is a fair amount of hesitation surrounding this adaptation. However, there is no need to worry, as we have done our patrol and visited all the important places and brought you everything you need to know about it. RoboCop: Wicked City Debuted with a trailer during NACON Connect in 2021. It was a very brief announcement, whose main purpose was to reveal and promote the project.

The trailer begins with a voice-over of a report on the rising crime rate in Old Detroit, as the city fills with smoke. The reporter asks who can possibly scare away the rampaging criminals and restore peace, leading to a shot of the game’s title and the iconic image of RoboCop pulling his side-arm from his leg holster.

Almost a year later, at NAConn Connect 2022, RoboCop: Wicked City Appearing once again, this time with actual gameplay to check out.

The trailer opens almost exactly like the last, with a broadcast detailing the rising crime wave in the city, which we see through crime scenes. However, this time the broadcast has been disrupted by a criminal on live TV.

We cut to RoboCop arriving on a scene and are put into first person. We hear the whirring sound of his robotic legs as he walks with slow, deliberate steps. He approaches a news station that has been taken over by punk gangsters, and we have him raid some kind of factory or plant as well as the usual slums and streets of Detroit. We also see a big encounter with a robot that looks exactly like the ED-209 from the movies.

One of the few lines comes from a man, presumably the owner of the bank, who asks where all the money is. He is later being interviewed, where he says that he would “trust this guy with my kids… I mean, if I had to,” and then claims that everything that happened was just that. There was a glitch. It’s not clear what he’s referring to, but it seems to be directed towards a situation similar to those in the movies where they attempt to create a completely robotic cop in the form of ED-209 which is quite Doesn’t work to any extent.

The trailer ends on RoboCop taking off the mask, approaching the screen and saying his most famous line: “Dead or alive, you’re coming with me.” What makes this rendition so impressive, beyond just the words, is the fact that it features Peter Weller reprising his role to voice Murphy/RoboCop.

Other than the ED-209-looking bot, there’s no indication in any way where this game will take place in the timeline or if it will be a reboot entirely.

Introduced in the Xbox Partner Preview, There Will Be Trouble trailer gives a little more texture to the world and the gangs within it RoboCop: Wicked City, Apart from the robocop-versus-biker action, nothing new is shown.

gameplay

The gameplay trailer was so heavily edited that it might be hard to make out. RoboCop: Wicked City Will actually play like. Still, digging into the footage reveals the basic idea.

Obviously, it will be a first-person shooter, but it will include some other elements as well. For one, there’s the instantly recognizable targeting mode where scan lines automatically target enemies, much like we saw in the movie. Although it’s not clear from the footage, which features no HUD, we suspect it will be something like a “Super” or a limited move you can activate that works like Soldier-76’s Ultimate. overwatch, Where you will automatically target any enemy in your field of view for a specific period of time.

However, you are not limited to just shooting. We see RoboCop grab and throw enemies with his hands, as well as kick trash cans. At the moment, the only weapon used by RoboCop is his trusty Auto-9 sidearm, but expect there to be a greater variety of weapons throughout the game.
