The Paradiso Louvre cinema returns from July 2 to 5 for a 5th edition under the sign of fashion and creation. Each evening, from 7:30 p.m., 2,500 spectators are invited to (re) discover the great classics of cinema on the big screen, comfortably installed under the stars, and all for free!

The festival which brings the arts dialogue in an exceptional setting

Faced with a 20 -meter monumental screen, the public will be able to live a unique experience in a prestigious setting for four evenings: the Louvre square courtyard. On the program? Outdoor projections, live concerts, quality food & drinks offer and immersive scenography.

Imagined in 2013 by Nathanaël and Elisha Karmitz, leaders of MK2, Cinéma Paradiso Louvre celebrates art in all its forms with a constant ambition: to arouse wonder by cinema. Thus, each edition creates an unprecedented dialogue between cinema and festive in emblematic places, and this year's edition pays homage to fashion and creation, echo at the exhibition event “Louvre Couture: art objects, fashion objects”, to discover until August 24 in the famous pyramid.

4 works to celebrate the links between fashion and cinema

Several cinema nuggets will follow one another on the big screen, preceded by exclusive presentations provided by recognized personalities of the 7th art and led by Lily Bloom, journalist for threecouleurs (media partner of the event) and presenter of the cinema circle on Canal+.

The public will be able to rediscover cult films such as in the Mood for Love by Wong Kar-Wai, a romantic masterpiece carried by the sublime Tony Leung Chiu-Wai and Maggie Cheung, emblematic figures of Hong Kong cinema.

Also on the bill, Virgin Suicides, Sofia Coppola's first feature film, projected in the exceptional presence of the director. This hypnotic drama notably revealed the young Kirsten Dunst, surrounded by James Woods, Kathleen Turner and Josh Hartnett, in a story as melancholy as magnetic.

The festival will also pay tribute to the immense David Lynch, disappeared last January, with the screening of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, prequel to the mythical universe of Twin Peaks, carried by Sheryl Lee in the overwhelming role of Laura Palmer, accompanied by Ray Wise, Moira Kelly and Kyle Maclachlan. The session will be introduced by actress Camille Cottin.

Finally, the secret agent, a breathtaking political thriller and the last feature of the Brazilian director Kleber Mendonça Filho-triple awarded at the last edition of the Cannes Festival-will close the festival in style. The presence of the filmmaker will give this preview a rare character, offering a vibrant and memorable conclusion to this 5th edition!

Musical breaks and refreshing gourmet!

Before each projection, spectators will be able to enjoy an eclectic, daring and resolutely contemporary musical programming: the DJ PIU Piu-well known to the Parisian electro scene-, the Juniore-Pop-Pop-Pop group and a surprise guest will meet to swing moviegoers! Between rising figures and confirmed talents, the musical scene of this edition will reflect all the richness of contemporary music.

Finally, to enhance the experience of festival -goers, Paradiso Louvre cinema will offer a varied and creative gastronomic offer. This year it will welcome 7 foodtrucks, 5 bars and a tasting stand of Italian craft ice cream with Amorino.

How to get a place?

In order to allow as many people as possible to participate, Cinéma Paradiso Louvre is launching a large lottery accessible to all where places will be offered up to 48 hours before the event. Over 2,500 places are to be won for each evening! For those who have missed their luck, a few places will be given available free of charge every day for the same evening.
