If you are still in shock from the end of “squid game”, know that the creator of the South Korean series of Netflix had another idea in mind. Attention, spoilers.
Attention, spoilers. It is advisable to have seen the end of “squid game” before continuing to read this article.
She broke all records on Netflix with more than 60 million views in 3 days, season 3 of Squid Game is a huge success for the platform. It must be said that the end of the most seen non -English -speaking series of all time on Netflix was eagerly awaited by fans.
The public was impatient to know the fate of the hero Seong Gi-Hun alias the player 456, interpreted by Lee Jung-Jae, in the South Korean series created by Hwang Dong-Hyuk. After winning the game in season 1, Gi-Hun returned for a new, well determined part to put an end to this deadly organization.
It was without counting his formidable opponents and especially the front man (Lee Byung-Hun), who had hidden his true identity to infiltrate the game and maintain his power over the smooth running of the game, from which no one can really escape.
The original end of “Squid Game” was different!
The fans surely expected it but the end of squid game is tragic for Gi-Hun. The latter sacrifices himself during the final test to save Jun-Hee’s baby (Yu-Ri Jo), who therefore becomes the winner of this squid game.
The forehead handles the baby and entrusted him with his brother six months later to raise him. He also took the opportunity to visit Gi-Hun’s daughter, who lives in Los Angeles, to whom he puts the rest of the fortune and the personal effects of his father.
In the streets of the city, the front front is challenged by a very familiar scene. He sees a woman dressed in costume, embodied by Cate Blanchett, playing Ddakji with a man to convince him to join the Squid Game. This very bitter end confirms that the squid game is played around the world and that no one, not even a gi-hun, can end it.

And yet, the end of squid game could have been very different according to its creator! “I don’t know if I can talk about an original end, but at the beginning, I had a vague idea of the way I would finish the story”said Hwang Dong-Hyuk to Hollywood Reporter. Indeed, Gi-Hun was not supposed to die in the first idea that the creator of the end was made.
“At the time, the end saw Gi-Hun ending the game, in one way or another, leaving alive and going to see her daughter in America”he explained. “At the start, I thought that Gi-Hun would witness the meeting with the American recruiter”.
But Hwang Dong-Hyuk began to question this end when he really worked on the script: “‘What is the purpose of this end?’ And ‘what should be Gi-Hun’s journey and its destination? ” I watched more and more what was going on in the world and I thought it would be more appropriate that Gi-Hun sends this powerful and impactful message to the world [par sa mort]and that this is how history would conclude “.
The end of squid game could therefore have been completely different if Gi-Hun had remained alive. He would have gotten out of it but he would still have understood that he could absolutely nothing against the game and that he was even going on in the United States. If the conclusion remains the same, the end guarded by the creator of the series is much more tragic. And fans do not recover.
