Squid game: these questions that remain unanswered at the end of season 3 – News Series

Lee Byung-Hun had announced it: season 3 of “Squid Game” will not answer any questions. Here is the list of mysteries not elected by the great final of the series!

Please note, the following comes back in detail on the final of the Squid Game series, now available on Netflix. If you haven't seen it, and you don't want to know anything about its content, you are highly recommended that you now interrupt your reading of this article.

We knew it in advance: some questions would remain unanswered after the Squid Game final broadcast. The last episode of the most seen series of all time on Netflix was unveiled this Friday, June 27, after a season 3 composed of only six episodes.

The investigation that leads to nothing

Fans of the program were able to follow the latest adventures of Gi-Hun Seong, the number 456 played by Lee Jung-Jae. After a high -tension final, the latter chose the path of sacrifice to ensure his protector's role for the baby of the player 222, who had entrusted the child before falling into the vacuum during the test of the jump rope.

Many questions remained unanswered at the end of this final. And there is no doubt that many fans will be hungry about the plot involving Inspector Hwang. The latter did not stop looking for the island where the games take place during the seasons 2 and 3. His quest finally ended with a short face-to-face with his brother Hwang in-ho, alias the master of the game.

The new mission of Inspector Hwang

The two men did not exchange a single word, and these reunion was interrupted by the flight of the Front Man and the self -destruction of the island. Clearly, this secondary intrigue will not have been used for much. The end of the series sees Inspector Hwang being entrusted with the winning little girl of the game, as well as the 45.6 billion Wons she won.

As for the master of the game, he went to Los Angeles to give Gi-Hun's daughter the money that the latter had not spent. His meeting, at the very end of season 3, with the recruiter embodied by Cate Blanchett, lets us guess that Hwang In-Ho continues to work for the organization that supervises squid games around the world.

A final cameo that teases the rest of the series?

This scene could serve as a teaser at the American spin-off currently in development. The filmmaker David Fincher is attached to the project, and it would therefore be logical for Cate Blanchett to resume his role for one or more episodes. But remember that this US sauce reboot has not yet been officially announced by Netflix.

The end of the series does not really conclude the intrigue of the 011, Kang No-Eul. She managed to make the player 246 escape, and send him the money necessary for the care of her sick daughter. As she believed her dead daughter, Kang No-Eul finally learns that she would be in China.

The series ends in the image of the young woman about to take a plane. But the plan that shows us its detective hanging up on the phone lets doubt: would it be a trap? But in this case, why organize the departure of Kang No-Eul abroad, when it would be easier to eliminate it? Again, we will not have a clearer response …

The return of the old man

Another mystery concerns Oh Il-Nam, the old man of season 1. We have long known that the latter was a double agent, since player number 001 is actually the chief of the organization of Squid Game. He died of his illness at the end of the first season, not without having previously bequeathed his powers to the master of the game.

A short scene of season 3 shows us the body of the old man, embalmed like a mummy. Why did you keep the lifeless body of Oh Il-Nam intact? Is it an abandoned sub-contort, linked to organ trafficking to which some of the pink guards are engaged? Of a simple morbid detail? Again, fans will have to be satisfied with this unlisted mystery.

The three seasons of Squid Game can now be found in full on Netflix.
