It is a controversial final for Squid Game. Some have joined the series vision and others were finally disappointed until the end. While many questions are still unanswered at the end of this third and last season, another question remains. And that falls, we're here to answer them.
Squid Game's creator, Hwang Dong-Hyuk, spoke of a key aspect of season 3's final in a new discussion on the series.
What did Gi-Hun mean?
In episode 6, Seong Gi-Hun, interpreted by Lee Jung-Jae, pronounces a brief monologue on the essence of the game itself. He denounces the fact that VIPs are not allowed to use the despair of desperate people as a tool to satisfy their sadistic pleasures. “”We are not horses“, He said, probably referring to his years of Turfist. Then he adds:”We are humans. And human beings are …“And he jumps from the last tower and sacrifices himself before having finished his thoughts.
Hwang Dong-Hyuk revealed in the special show, Squid Game Conversation already available on Netflix, which he had decided to put an end to the Gi-Hun speech in an abrupt manner in the end of the series in order to demonstrate the human complexity and not to limit the scope of the message which he sought to transmit through this scene.

“”People are far too complex to be categorically defined in this way. And if I sent spectators a message as explicit, normative and didactic, that would only limit the message itself. So I decided that the rest of what I meant would be rather physically expressed by Gi-Hun, through his actions, his actions and the sacrifice he does to save this child“He added.
According to Lee Jung-Jae, if the message of this scene had been complete and leaving no room for the interpretation of viewers, the latter would have stayed there. For him, if they had chosen to finish Gi-Hun's speech, it would have given history “only one conclusion“.
