Starfield Probably the best main narrative Bethesda has ever created, however, most people will still prefer to spend the majority of their game time exploring the various factions. Of all the different groups that your character can join, one of the earliest and most fascinating is UC Vanguard. During one of these faction quests called “A Legacy Forged”, you will have to make an important decision regarding the use of Aces or Microbes to stop the deadly Pteromorph threat. The consequences of every decision you make won’t be clear until you commit, so here are the consequences of each decision Starfield,
Should you choose cells or microbes?
Pteromorphs are a created species designed to completely destroy whatever environment they encounter and should not be allowed to proliferate. To stop this threat, the UC Council’s Abello presents you with two options for destroying pteromorphs: kills and microbes.
Aceles is another species that is the only species capable of hunting and killing pteromorphs. By allowing them to breed and hunt pteromorphs, you can safely eliminate the threat, but over a longer period of time and at a higher cost.
The microbe mentioned is a biological weapon that will essentially wipe out the Pteromorphs by infecting them at once. However, the microbe will also infect nearby flora and fauna, essentially killing anything nearby as collateral damage. Yes, it will eliminate the threat once and for all, but at the cost of many innocent lives.
Both will result in the pteromorphs being stopped, but the choice is whether you want to deal with it in a more “natural” way by using natural predators or dropping a type of chemical bomb that is indiscriminate about who will infect it. Your choice will not affect your reward or the story beyond it, although some companions may not agree with one choice or another.
