NORAD Tracks Santa

NORAD Tracks Santa is the official app of the NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) Tracks Santa program, established in 1955 to track the whereabouts of Santa Claus around the world while delivering gifts to children both naughty and nice, but only if they are asleep. The free application for iOS and Android links to the famous website that allows you and the children to enjoy a countdown clock to Christmas Eve and also includes a game room with a different and challenging game to play all the days until Christmas Eve. You can also listen to Christmas music, watch videos, and read books. On Christmas Eve, the show begins tracking Santa’s travels on a route known only to him and, presumably, his crew of reindeer. The latest version includes new games, music and content with support for radar chat and references to Christmas traditions from around the world.

It is intended for parents who want to have fun with their children and who also want to use Santa’s authority to induce their children to behave well. The idea is for your kids to listen to an introductory video of Santa and then place one of their fingers on the touch screen, which then scans it and produces a verdict, telling your child through colorful special effects that they are “naughty” or ” nice.” It sounds simple, but it’s a lot of fun, while parents can make random judgments or choose just “naughty” or “nice.” This particular app is available for iOS only, but a well-rated Android alternative is Naughty or Nice Photo Scanner Game.
