The Best STG44 Loadouts in Call of Duty: Warzone

Following the Call of Duty: Vanguard Warzone integration, players have over 40 additional WWII-themed weapons to choose from. Unsurprisingly, a variety of these has found their way into the warzone meta, including the STG44. This is one of the entry-level assault rifles that hold its own, even against top-tier weapons like the Bren, Cooper Carbine, and BAR. What’s great about the STG44 is its versatility, excelling up close, at long range, and even as sniper support.

But what loads should you use with the STG44? After all, there are so many different ways to build the weapon that it can be overwhelming when looking at the options. Fortunately, we have three essential STG44 loadout recommendations for you to use in a war zone for various styles of play.

STG44 Overview

As always, let’s take a look at an overview of the STG44, with a detailed breakdown showing how it stacks up against other assault rifles. To be honest, the STG44 is by no means the best weapon in the game, but its versatility is what makes it shine. This assault rifle falls somewhere between the likes of the Cooper Carbine and AK-47 (CW), with a competitive time to kill (TTK) at various ranges.

The STG44 doesn’t stick out much until after about 100 feet, however, you can absolutely dress it up to work well up close. According to TrueGameData, the STG44 has a TTK of around 850ms if you fire all chest shots at around 30m, putting it around the mid-range TTK for assault rifles. However, given how easy it is to control, you’ll be able to consistently achieve this TTK compared to other weapons like the AK-47 (CW) which are much harder to control.

Bottom line: The STG44 may not look remarkable on paper, but considering its low recoil and versatility, you shouldn’t ignore it.

Long-range

Recommended construction:

Muzzle F8 stabilizer
Barrel VDD 760mm 05B
Optical SVT-40 Visor PU 3-6x
Values Accuracy VDD 27
under the barrel Carving handle
Magazine Kurz 60 8mm Round Drum
Ammunition extended
rear grip polymer grip
Gaje Trick
Benefit 2 Fully charged

First, let’s dive into the best STG44 build for long-range, which will serve you well on Caldera or Rebirth Island. This is a build that will emphasize recoil control, accuracy, and range, allowing you to secure kills tens of meters away.

Start by using the Stabilizing Muzzle F8. This may be surprising, but you will find it much easier to control your weapon due to this attachment’s accuracy and increased damage range. It does affect sprint-to-fire speed and hip-fire accuracy, but both of these debuffs are virtually no problem with this build. So go with the VDD 760mm 05B Cannon to increase damage range, reduce scope sway, and increase accuracy and control. This is the key to the long-range setup. After that, pick an optic you’re comfortable with, preferably something with at least 2.5x zoom like the SVT-40 Visor PU 3-6x. This attachment actually improves your accuracy, which is a big plus.

Since this is a ranged build, we highly recommend using the VDD 27 Precision Stock for additional horizontal recoil control and faster ADS speeds. This will make the weapon easier to control. Speaking of control, it’s best to use the Carver Foregrip Underbarrel in this case, as it increases recoil control and hip-fire accuracy. Next up is one of the keys to this build and that is the Kurz 60 8mm Round Drum Magazine. It can be tempting to go for the short 45-round .30 Russian mags or even the 50-round 7.62 Gorenko mags, but both should be avoided for long-range. the 8mm Kurz gives you plenty of ammo without hurting your recoil control.

To improve the speed of your bullet, it is essential to select the Lengthened Ammo. This makes your bullets reach your opponents faster, preventing you from having to lead your shots as much. After that, we suggest the Polymer Rear Grip , which gives you better recoil resistance and greater accuracy and recoil control during sustained fire. For your Perk, it can be tempting to use Vital as it increases torso damage, but this doesn’t actually reduce the number of shots to kill so it’s better to use Sleight of Hand instead. This perk allows you to reload faster. Lastly, equip Fully Charged to Perk 2 for maximum starting ammo.

Profits

Benefit 1 EOD
Benefit 2 Ghost
Benefit 3 combat scout

When it comes to perks, it’s hard to go wrong with EOD, which increases your resistance to explosive damage. This is generally more useful than Quick Fix, and since this loadout is more designed for range, it can likely be covered much more easily than with a fast-paced class setup. So our destination is almost always Ghost, which prevents you from appearing on the enemy’s minimap during UAVs and on Heartbeat Sensors. Since this is a ranged build, we highly recommend Combat Scout, which allows you to automatically ping enemies you damage. This makes it easier to shoot consistently across surfaces.

Team

Lethal Molotov cocktail
Tactical heartbeat sensor

As usual, we almost always recommend using Molotov cocktails as your lethal gear, as they can deal tremendous fire damage and cause burns over time. As for tactical gear, we highly recommend the Heartbeat Sensor, which allows you to see all non-ghost players within a 50-meter radius. This isn’t as useful during the latter part of a match, but it can be super effective for the first half.

Point-blank range

Recommended construction:

Muzzle recoil booster
Barrel Krausnick 220 Fast
Optical slate reflector
Values material removed
under the barrel Grip ready for M3
Magazine 7.62 Gorenko 50 round magazines
Ammunition Arsonist
rear grip leather grip
Gaje Trick
Benefit 2 Fully charged

Although most players lean toward the long-range build, you can actually turn the STG44 into an SMG with the right attachments. This build prioritizes mobility, fast fire rate, and ADS speeds, making it easy to secure close-in kills.

Switch to the Recoil Booster Muzzle for a fire rate upgrade. While this hurts your accuracy, you’ll actually be able to take down opponents faster. Just make sure you don’t try to use this weapon beyond 20 meters because it will be much harder to land your shots. To further increase your rate of fire, equip the Krausnick 220 Rapid Barrel. Again, this will affect your accuracy, but it shouldn’t affect you too closely. From there we like to use the Slate Reflector Optics giving you 1.35x magnification without hurting your ADS speed.

M3 Ready Grip Gun Bass

When using a close-range weapon, Removed Material is always a solid option as it improves movement speed, sprint-to-fire speed, and ADS speed. From there, switch to the M3 Ready Grip Gun Bass, which gives you faster ADS speed, sprint speed to fire, and aim movement speed to walk. This will make the weapon feel more like an SMG up close. So, we advise you to go with the 7.62 Gorenko Magazine 50 Round Mags type for better recoil control, movement speed, ADS speed and rate of fire. You will be unstoppable in 15 meters or so. We also recommend using Incendiary Ammo for this, as it deals light damage over time. This hurts bullet speed, which isn’t a problem with a tight-quarters class build.

From there, equip the Leather Grip for better ADS speeds and aim stability, making the weapon feel even more like an SMG. Retains the two perks from the previous build: Sleight of Hand for faster reload speeds and Fully Loaded for maximum starting ammo.

Profits

Benefit 1 quick fix
Benefit 2 Ghost
Benefit 3 amplified

With this build, we like to use Quick Fix as you’re more likely to run into multiple enemies up close. This perk allows for immediate health regeneration after securing a kill, which comes in handy when facing multiple enemies in a row. After that, it’s hard to miss using Ghost, but you can also go with Overkill to carry a long-range rifle or sniper with you. So, use amplified to allow faster weapon swapping speed.

Team

Lethal Throwing knife
Tactical stun grenades

You’ll be using this weapon in close quarters scenarios, so it makes sense to use it Throwing Knives to finish off downed opponents without wasting ammo. Likewise, Stun Grenades are great for giving you the upper hand when anticipating a firefight, as they temporarily shock and immobilize your opponents. Of course, the Heartbeat Sensors are also fantastic.

All-around

Recommended construction:

Muzzle mercury silencer
Barrel VDD 760mm 05B
Optical G16 2.5x
Values VDD 34S Weighted
under the barrel Carving handle
Magazine .30 Russian Short 45 Round Magazines
Ammunition extended
rear grip polymer grip
Gaje Trick
Benefit 2 Fully charged

For the final version, we’ll lean on one that holds its own from afar and up close, giving you the best of both worlds. This is something of a hybrid between the previous two loadouts, with improved ADS timings, recoil control, and suppression.

We suggest equipping the Mercury Silencer Mouth with this loadout, it gives you sound suppression and improved recoil control. This will prevent you from appearing on the enemy’s minimap while shooting. So your best bet is to switch to the VDD 760mm 05B Cannon , which gives you more accuracy, less scope sway and gun sway, and better damage range. You can then use the G16 2.5x Optic for better magnification, accuracy, and recoil control. This will help the STG44 feel like a laser beam without hurting ADS speeds as much as 3x optics.

From there, go with the VDD 34S Weighted Stock , which gives you improved accuracy, recoil resistance, recoil control, and aim stability. All of this will help you secure mid-range eliminations. Likewise, the Carver Grip Underbarrel will also help you with recoil control and firing accuracy from the hip, perfect for those ranged battles. Now, equip the .30 Russian Short 45 Round Magazine for better bullet speed, range, bullet penetration, and overall damage. This hurts your recoil control, but you can get away with it at mid-range. To further improve bullet speed, use the Stretched Ammo type with this build.

After that, go with the Polymer Grip Rear Grip for better recoil resistance and more accuracy and recoil control during sustained fire. This, once again, will help you accomplish your goal more easily. So stick with Sleight of Hand for faster reload speeds, and Fully Loaded which gives you maximum starting ammo.

Profits

Benefit 1 EOD
Benefit 2 Maximum alert
Benefit 3 combat scout

Since this build works better from afar, you can skip the Quick Fix in favour of EOD. Both are good though, so pick the one that works best for your playstyle. For this loadout, we actually recommend going High Alert as long as you’re confident in your abilities. It’s hard to skip using Ghost, but if you can hold your own in battle, you’ll be glad to have High Alert equipped, as it causes your screen to flicker when an enemy looks in your direction. Then go with Combat Scout so you can ping enemies from your entire team when you deal damage.

Team

Lethal Molotov cocktail
Tactical stun grenades

Finally, go ahead and equip what you’ve been using if you tried our previous builds. Molotov cocktails are fantastic lethal as they can easily knock a player down if you hit them directly while dealing damage over time. stuns are also great as they freeze your enemies temporarily while blinding them for a brief moment. However, the heartbeat sensors are also fantastic.
