As fashion weeks continue to sweep across Europe, so do some of the biggest trends. Even in the bitter cold of winter, these street looks were hotter than fire. Throughout Copenhagen Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2022, we saw plenty of leather jackets in all shades and lengths. We also enjoyed seeing chunky knits, timeless long coats and clean silhouettes with oversized outerwear. Typically, many lean into neutral tones during the cooler months, but fashion lovers weren’t afraid to go big and bold this season. We saw a myriad of duo-chrome outfits – matching coats, shoes, skirts and bags, with a different hue in between. Some have gone straight to the three color rule, adding an extra tone to the mix for a more complex result. Interpretations of the biggest trends of the 80s, 70s and 90s included the mix of retro and modern silhouettes, such as oversized sweaters, fringes, bohemian looks, puffer jackets and platform heels. Some took inspiration from Princess Diana’s book by combining sportswear with woolen coats and denim. Bright yellow, lime green, mint, purple and pink were popular, but we also saw blue and brown join in the fun. While there were plenty, it wasn’t just about color blocking. There was also an array of conflicting prints and textures. Many let their accessories do the talking – neon accents in the form of boots, bags, gloves and scarves grabbed attention and gave a playful touch to sophisticated outfits. Add a splash of life to your next winter outfit – here are the best looks we saw at Copenhagen Fashion Week A/W22.
