Canal+ broadcasts this evening the first episodes of “The Agency”, American remake of the “Legends Bureau” with Michael Fassbender. Bet missed or successful?

What is it talking about?
Martian, a CIA agent, back to the base of London, struggles to leave his last blanket behind him. When the woman he liked resurfaces, romance is reborn. A relationship against the rules, which puts his career and his true identity in danger. Shared between heart and reason, he finds himself propelled into a dangerous game, against the backdrop of international intrigue and espionage.
What we thought about it?
The French manage to make productions worthy of the largest American series but do the Americans manage to make remakes of our best series? This is the question that we ask ourselves with The Agency, broadcast this evening on Canal+.
Noted 4.4 out of 5 and considered one of the best French series in recent years, the legends office is a nervous and authentic spy thriller written by Eric Rochant. No wonder George Clooney saw the opportunity to produce a remake.
On paper, The Agency makes damn envy: Michael Fassbender walks in the footsteps of Mathieu Kassovitz and he does a remarkable job. Just like Jeffrey Wright, in the role of a CIA or Richard Gere service manager in that of an agent who directs the London base.
The female characters are not to be outdone, although withdrawn in the two episodes broadcast at the opening ceremony: Jodie Turner-Smith is captivating in the role of Sami Zahir, the mistress of our hero who could hide a double game just like Katherine Waterston (fantastic animals) in that of Martian’s operator when he was on the ground.
If on the casting side, The Agency delights us, this is unfortunately not enough to match the legendary office. The spectator is directly immersed in this world of spying without any preamble: we do not understand the forces involved, the dialogues are too often cryptic and we are lost with the characters who move from one country to another in a change of plan. We must not get a single second to understand what we are talking about.

The realization of Joe Wright, nervous and tense, allows the spectator to plunge into the psyche of our hero, who is lost between his old identity and his new mission (find a missing agent).
The Agency is one of its slow rhythm series, which takes the time to introduce all the protagonists and unroll all the intrigues and finally connect them to each other during the final outcome.
The first two episodes in any case convinced us to continue viewing during the broadcast of the series on Canal+ and we hope not to be disappointed.
