It is said that in the early 1900s, Edward Leedskalnin got engaged to his girlfriend Agnes, who was only 16 years old at the time. The day before they were to be engaged, Agnes broke off the relationship. Edward spent the next 28 years creating this monument as a sign of love. He painstakingly carved over 1,100 tons of coral reef by hand without any major machinery and completed the construction in 1940. He died in his sleep 11 years later in a local hospital. Some visitors have experienced strange feelings while viewing this monument!

5. Coconut Grove Playhouse

Opened in 1927, the playhouse was once a movie theater for Paramount Pictures. It had a huge capacity and hosted a variety of performances until it closed in 2006 due to high debts.
