Announced a year ago, this American thriller directed by Kathryn Bigelow for Netflix will be released in 2025 on our screens. Discover the first info.
Since she released the excellent Detroit in 2017, Kathryn Bigelow had kept herself away from film sets, only officiating as a producer on certain projects. In 2024, the only Oscar -winning director – for the excellent war film Demineurs (2009) – remained talking about her, for our greatest pleasure.
Not thank you Netflix! The platform cancels the most anticipated SF film project, directed by Kathryn Bigelow
Rather than turning to cinema, the filmmaker had teamed up with Netflix for her next project. The platform has finally unveiled the name of the film and the date of broadcast: A House of Dynamite is expected on our television screens on October 24.
Netflix's next big hit?
This political thriller takes place within the White House, in real time: when a missile is launched on the United States, a race against the clock is launched to determine who is responsible and how to react.
For his return behind the camera, Bigelow surrounded himself with the cream of the cream: Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Gabriel Basso (The Night Agent), Jared Harris, Kaitlyn Dever (The Last of Us), Anthony Ramos (Twisters) or Moses Ingum (La Voix du Lac) are part of this prestigious distribution.
The release of A House of Dynamite in October – accompanied by a broadcast in certain cinemas in the United States – is not trivial. Netflix hopes to be able to be selected from the Oscars and other prestigious ceremonies. Especially since Bigelow is all its chances: this virtuoso of the camera – which handles both tension and realism – manages to immerse us in each of its films.
She manages to approach the question of politics, institutions and armed conflict with great accuracy (as in Zero Dark Thirty) and the synopsis of her film Netflix makes us say that this will be the case again.
A House of Dynamite, written by Noah Oppenheim (the labyrinth) – should in any case be talked about in a few months on Netflix. So note the date of October 24 in your agendas.
