3 PBS shows you should watch in October

Streaming fans pay a lot of money to watch a library of shows. But what many people don’t realize is that PBS brings a ton of television shows to your home for free. Most of PBS’s lineup consists of documentaries and news programs, but it is also home to drama series from around the world.

After reviewing this list of everything coming to PBS this month, we’ve picked three PBS shows you should watch in October. Although you can watch these series on your local PBS stations, there are also streaming options, which you can check out below.

Masterpiece: World on Fire

If the world is burning were on Netflix, it would likely be a global sensation. Instead, this original BBC series is coming to the US via PBS. Work Compilation series. The show takes place during World War II, and Jonah Hauer-King plays Harry Chase, an interpreter turned British soldier who is already married to his childhood sweetheart, Lois Bennett (Julia Brown). committed to. little bird There’s a new play out of Canada, and the title character’s real name is also Esther Rosenblum (Darla Contois). When Esther was still a child, she and her siblings were forcibly taken from their home by child protective services and placed in an orphanage. Esther was adopted into a wealthy family, and raised by her adoptive mother Golda Rosenblum (Lisa Edelstein).

Now a young woman, Esther is a law student and engaged to David (Roven Kahn). But an insulting racist comment from David’s mother inspires Esther to reconnect with both her birth family and her heritage so she can become Bessig Little Bird once again.
