3 underrated shows on Peacock you need to watch in October
Peacock subscribers may have noticed that much of the streamer’s content comes from NBC and Universal’s library of movies and TV shows. Peacock originals exist, but when current NBC series get more attention on the homepage, it becomes harder to find underrated shows.
In a way, Peacock’s problem is that it has too many things that distract from its own programs, like an extensive schedule of live sports every day of the month. So for those Peacock subscribers who just want to find a new show, we’ve put together this list of three underrated shows on Peacock that you need to watch in October. One of our picks is the first (and so far, only) spinoff SuitWhile the other two are a Peacock original series and a lesser-known show based on a Stephen King short story.
Pearson (2019)
Netflix is experiencing unprecedented success Suit on the streaming charts, making it easy to forget that Peacock even has the rights to stream Suit, but only the peacock has Suit spinoff series, pearson, with Gina Torres reprising her role as Jessica Pearson. For this series, Jessica moves from New York to Chicago and gives up her career as a high-profile lawyer to work as a fixer for Chicago Mayor Bobby Novak (Morgan Specter).
Jessica wastes no time in alienating people at her new job, including Kerry Allen (Bethany Joy Lenz), a young woman in the mayor’s office who is having a secret affair with Bobby. Yet as Jessica becomes more involved in the mayor’s office and Chicago politics, she wishes she had more allies on her side.

Killing It (2022–present)
OfficeCraig Robinson has his own Peacock Original series, are killing, and this is the type of show that really should be a lot more popular than it currently is. Robinson plays Craig Foster, a down-on-his-luck guy who just wants to live the American dream and start his own business. After a chance encounter with an aggressive snake hunter, Jillian Glop (Claudia O’Doherty), destroys his best chance of obtaining a business loan, Craig decides to enter the Florida Python Challenge to catch and kill the most snakes. Decides.
Unfortunately for Craig, even teaming up with Jillian doesn’t change his luck. It’s not long before Craig becomes a suspect in an arson case and is asked to hide a body. To make things even more complicated, Craig’s ex-wife, Camille (Stephanie Nogueras), and their daughter, Vanessa (Jett Miller), are moving away, and there’s little Craig can do to stop that from happening.

Mister Mercedes (2017-2019)
Stephen King’s mr mercedes The Audience ran for three seasons on the network and never really took off beyond that. The series is more of a crime story than King’s famous horror stories, but the story does have some horror elements. Brendan Gleeson plays Kermit William “Bill” Hodges, a police detective who has retired without a job because he was never able to find and identify “Mr.” Mercedes,” a man who fled a job fair and killed 16 people.
The killer is revealed to the audience as Brady Hartsfield (Harry Treadway), a deeply troubled electronics expert who is not satisfied with murder and getting away with it. He wishes to torment Hodges and drive him to kill himself, resuming the deadly cat-and-mouse game between the two.
