Tim Burton: 13 years later, the director has very good news for his fans

Involved in season 2 of “Wednesday”, which will arrive on Netflix in August, Tim Burton announced that he was currently working on a new animated feature film, on which he did not give more details.

Having made his debut in animation, at Disney, Tim Burton always returns there in one way or another. Thanks to the special effects of some of his films (Beetlejuice and her suite in mind), by signing remakes in real shots of classics (Alice in Wonderland, Dumbo) or, more simply, by directing hitchhiking feature: not the strange Christmas of M. Jack, which we owe to Henry Selick even if it is the instigator, but Frankenweenie.

Released in 2012, the latter marked the latest real Tim Burton foray into the cinema animation. Until today and this announcement made at the bend of an interview in Mexico, as part of the launch of the immersive exhibition around its universe: “I work on an animated project, yes”he said in this video whose extract was relayed on X.

“I hope that the scenario will be over soon and that we can then move forward from there.” And Edward's dad in the hands of money will not say more about the film, whether it is the title, the story, the style (even if it is difficult to imagine that it is not animated image by image) or the possibility that it is the continuation or remake of one of the opus of his filmography.

Nor when he can really get down to it, knowing that he can, as in the time of Charlie and the chocolate factory and the funeral wedding, shoot a project in real shots on one side and supervise an animated feature film almost at the same time. In the meantime, Tim Burton will be illustrated on August 6 on Netflix, with season 2 of Wednesday, before directing the remake of the attack of the woman of 50 feet to which he is attached, and a possible Beetlejuice 3.
