Physical Qualification

Applicants applying for the posts of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Category I) posts must possess the following Physical Qualifications:-

TNPSC Group 1 Selection Process 2023

The selection TNPSC Group 1 exam 2023 will be done on the basis of the following sequence:

  1. Preliminary Exam
  2. Mains Exam
  3. Interview (Oral Test)

TNPSC Group 1 2023 Exam Pattern

The selection will be made in three successive stages viz., (i) Preliminary Examination for selection of candidates for admission to the Main Written Examination (ii) Main Written Examination and (iii) an Oral Test in the shape of an Interview. TNPSC Group 1 exam has two written papers, Prelims, and Mains. Prelims consist of Multiple Choice Questions whereas Mains has descriptive questions. The pattern for each exam has been discussed below.

TNPSC Group 1 Mains Exam Pattern

Each paper has descriptive questions and the right answers are marked subjectively by the examiners. The number of questions varies in each chapter and tests the candidate’s knowledge across several domains.

The Main Written Examination answer sheets of Paper-II, Paper-III and Paper-IV will be evaluated, only if the candidate secures minimum qualifying marks [40%- i.e., 40 marks] in Paper-I and the marks secured in Paper-I will not be taken into account for ranking.
