Every day, Allociné recommends a film to (re) see on TV. Tonight: Omar Sy goes to combat in this tribute film to colonial troops.
A year after having occupied the post of artistic supervisor of the series in therapy of Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache, Mathieu Vadepied paid tribute to the Senegalese soldiers mobilized during the First World War in his feature film Tirailleurs.
1917. Bakary Diallo (Omar Sy) joined the French army to watch over his young son, Thierno (Alassane Diong), seventeen, recruited by force. Sent on the front, they will have to face war together.
But galvanized by the ardor of his officer who wants to lead him to the heart of the battle, Thierno will gradually free himself and learn to become a man, while Bakary will do everything to tear him away from the fights and bring him healthy.
Omar Sy in heroic father
If we tell you Omar Syyou probably think of the two biggest roles of the actor on the small and big screen: Driss in Intouchables and Assane Diop in the Netflix series which broke all records, Lupine. However, the filmography ofOmar Sy is far from being reduced to these two successes.
Among the striking characters embodied by the actor Cesarized, there is Bakary Diallo, this father of the family of Senegalese origin who leaves on the front to protect his son, Thierno, recruited by force. A different role from that that spectators are used to seeing it, because both more serious and dramatic.
Tirailleurs focuses on the complex link that unites Bakary and his son, in the brutal context of the First World War. And the least we can say is thatOmar Sy upset in the shoes of this father witnessing the transformation of his son, as revealed by the many opinions of the spectators Allociné:
“”Very moving film played by an excellent Omar Sy inhabited by its role“(Billy Géraldine)
“”Omar Sy succeeds in an honorable composition“(Norman06)
“”A masterful and historical work, sublimated by the presence of the great Omar Sywho has taken another dimension again with this film …“(Nino Delaune Gotfunk)
“”From a sincere humanism, this drama is dominated by the composition of an immense actor: Omar Sy“(Jipéhel)
“”Film full of feelings without being sentimental, where Omar Sy highlights the full extent of his talent“(Claude Wolfs)
If Omar Sy almost never played in skirmishers, he finally chose to invest 100 % in this project that is close to his heart, embodying the hero's father, while putting on the major producer role, as he entrusted during an interview:
“”I want to show that my involvement goes beyond being playing. It is an involvement that exceeds that of the actor. I believe a lot in this story, it is important for me that it exists, and I want to help make it known as best as possible. I thought that being only the actor was not enough. Play and co -produce are two forms of support“.
