Three years after the success of his film A prophet, a jury grand prize in Cannes, Jacques Audiard signed his comeback on the Croisette with rust and bones, a melodrama halfway between social fable and romantic comedy.
Released in the cinema in 2012, Rust and bonesixth feature film of Jacques Audiardis an adaptation of the collection of short stories by Craig Davidson. We meet Ali (Matthias Schoenaerts), who leaves Belgium alongside his son, Sam, 5, to go and live in Antibes with his sister Anna (Corinne Masiero).
Once there, he won a video job in a nightclub and meets a young woman with whom he falls in love, Stéphanie (Marion Cotillard). One day, after losing her mark, Ali finds her. Stéphanie has changed well: she lost her legs and a lot of illusions.
Awards rain for Audiard and Cotillard
