What happens once the duel is over?

United Artists
When the film begins, the famous Wyatt Earp, his two brothers and his friend Doc Holliday have just participated in the famous account of OK Corral who opposed them to the farmer's gang. Patriarch Clanton, IKE, intends not to let it go and have a lawsuit for the EARP family.
This western is the direct continuation of account settlements to OK Corral, a famous classic of the genre directed by John Sturges with the role of Wyatt Earp Burt Lancaster and in that of Doc Holliday Kirk Douglas. The film told with a solid dramaturgy the events leading to the shooting and the settlement of accounts itself. But what happens once the “bad guys” killed and that the “gentle” won? This is what seven seconds are interested in hell.
The figure of Wyatt Earp Ecorned

United Artists
If the first film was to the glory of the shooting of OK Corral, seven seconds in hell, also signed Sturges, explores the consequences and the possible reprisals which may arise from a resolution of problems by violence. Thus, when Ike Clanton (played by the incomparable Robert Ryan) loses his trial and the EARP and Doc Holliday are recognized as legitimate to have organized this massacre, he decides to have the brothers of Wyatt assassinate, and the climbing of violence continues …
No need to go further in the plot to understand that it is the psychology of the characters and the denunciation of the “eye for eye” that interests Sturges, in this western often overlooked or even forgotten. Wyatt Earp, often presented as a heroic figure in the West sees its scorned image, in what is akin to a western which foreshadows the New Hollywood. He also released the same year as Bonnie and Clyde, considered one of the first films attached to this period of renewal of American cinema.
Perhaps a film in advance on its time, currently available on Prime Video.
