Paris Fashion Week brings fashion month to a close

Paris Fashion Week is in full swing and wraps up a huge fashion month for SS22 shows. This week includes a stellar lineup, with shows from Chloé, Saint Laurent, Dior and Balmain. Dior was inspired by the Marc Bohan era of the 1960s, who created the famous “Slim Look”, itself inspired by the Flapper scene of the 20s. The collection included a series of tailored mini-skirt combinations , bold prints and boxing apparel. Saint Laurent has brought back bespoke suits inspired by classic rock and roll references. This included high-waisted jeans, spandex jumpsuits with an asymmetrical drape, floral prints, blazer dresses and chain mail vests. Everything was presented in front of the most famous backdrop in Paris – the Eiffel Tower.

Chloé presented her SS22 collection with the planet in mind. Every garment in the collection is “naturally low impact,” featuring linen, deadstock fabrics and other ethically sourced materials and practices. Valentino has reintroduced the beauty of flowers with its latest collection. The designer’s artistic director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, wanted to represent fashion in the streets of Paris. This collection included a series of bold coats, flowing floral dresses, cut-out mini dresses and an assortment of bright hues. Balenciaga has teamed up with The Simpsons to present its latest collection, featuring Homer, Marge, Lisa, Maggie and Bart, alongside Walen Smithers and Ned Flanders, with a special cameo by Anna Wintour. The cartoon family wore oversized puffer jackets, jumpsuits and gold dresses. The next week includes Givenchy, Vivienne Westwood, Hermès and Alexandre Vauthier, Maison Margiela, followed by Chanel, Miu Miu and Louis Vuitton in the final days.
