As a fashion designer, I’ve been tasked with creating an innovative and stylish design for Amazon’s latest women’s top collection – Top Picks. In this article, I will explain my thought process behind designing the perfect blouse for the Top Picks collection. I will consider the target audience, fashion trends, materials, silhouette, cut, functionality and versatility of the blouse.

Target Audience

Top Picks is a collection aimed at modern, stylish women who care about fashion and want to stay up-to-date with current trends. The target audience is fashion-conscious, well-travelled and appreciates high-quality materials and well-designed clothing items.

Fashion Trends

I did some research on current fashion trends and found that bold colours, florals, and statement sleeves are very popular right now. Also, romantic, feminine tops with ruffles and lace work well. However, I wanted to create a blouse that is both on-trend and timeless. I want this blouse to be a staple in any contemporary wardrobe.

Design Details

My design is a beautifully crafted, ruffle blouse with intricate lace detailing. The fabric used for the blouse will be lightweight cotton, making it perfect for the hot summer months. The overall aesthetic I’m going for is romantic and feminine, yet versatile and easy to wear.

The silhouette of the blouse is slightly fitted at the waist and flares out softly towards the hem, creating a flattering shape for any body type. Additionally, the sleeves have a slight puffiness and flared cuffs, adding an extra layer of femininity while still being comfortable to wear.

This blouse is perfect for a day out with friends, or a night out on the town.

Creating a Versatile Wardrobe

One of my design goals was to create a blouse that can be worn in various ways, allowing for versatility in the wardrobe. The blouse can be worn with jeans for a casual daytime look. Alternatively, the blouse can be dressed up by wearing it tucked into a skirt or paired with a smart pair of trousers and heels.
