Selection Process for CAPF Assistant Commandant Positions
- Written Exam: This examination is divided into two papers, Paper I & II. Paper I will be conducted to check the candidate’s General and Mental Ability, and Paper II will comprise the General Studies, Essay and Comprehension.
- Physical Efficiency Test: The second phase of the selection process is the Physical Standard and Medical Standard Test. It will be separate for male and female candidates.
- Personality Test/ Interview: After clearing the PET, the commission will take a personality test or interview. For the personality test or interview, the commission will issue a Detailed Application Form (DAF) for shortlisted candidates.
- Final Merit List: A merit list will be prepared for shortlisted candidates based on the marks obtained in all phases.

This examination will be conducted in offline mode with two papers. Paper I includes 125 questions with 250 marks, and Paper II involves 07 questions, totalling 200 marks. The duration to complete Paper I is 02 hours, and 03 hours for Paper II. This will be conducted with a negative marking scheme, 1/3rd of marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
