The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the examination schedule for Assistant Divisional Officer, General Duty Medical Officer and other positions. The commission will conduct a Combined Medical Services Examination (CMS) to recruit the most capable individuals for these positions on 14 July 2024.
Candidates who filled out an application form as per the application registration dates are waiting for the UPSC CMS Admit Card. The commission will issue admit cards to the eligible candidates at least 5 days before the examination. Candidates can download their admit card by application registration details, which were provided at the time of registration.

UPSC Medical Officers Selection Process and Exam Pattern
The Medical Officers for various positions will be selected based on the marks obtained in the Written Examination and Personality Test. The written examination will be conducted in two parts, and those who qualify for both papers will be called to take a personality test.

Written Exam
The written exam involves two papers: Paper I for General Medicine And Paediatrics and Paper II for Preventive and Social Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology and Obstetrics. Each paper has 120 multiple-choice questions with a total of 250 marks. The duration to complete each paper is 02 hours. This examination will be conducted with 0.33 marks of negative marking.

Personality Test
Candidates who will qualify for the written examination are called for the Personality Test. This test carries 100 marks. It will be conducted to check the candidate’s intellectual curiosity, critical powers of assimilation, balance of judgement and alertness of mind, ability for social cohesion, integrity of character, initiative and capability of leadership.

Information Related to the Candidate’s
It has the name, roll number, date of birth, category, gender, and parent details of the candidates. Along with these details, it has the candidate’s photograph and signature.
Information Related to the Examination
The admit card clearly mentions the exam date, exam time and examination centre details. Along with the examination details, it has some instructions which the candidates must follow in the examination hall. Here are the exam instructions:
- Carry at least two printouts of the admit card.
- Take two ID proofs and two recent passport-size photographs.
- Do not carry any study material into the examination hall.
- Candidates should not have electronic devices like smartwatches, gadgets, or other equipment.

Candidates can obtain the admit card by entering the application registration details into the login portal. Here are the steps to download the “UPSC CMS Admit Card”:
- It is required to go through the official website i.e. upsc.gov.in.
- Look for the “What’s New” section and find the link to download the “UPSC CMS Admit Card”.
- Click on the given link and enter the login credentials.
- After entering the details, click the submit button and wait for a few seconds.
- The admit card will be displayed on the screen in PDF form.
- Download it, and do not forget to take at least two copies of the admit card to enter the examination hall.
