What’s New on Netflix and What’s Leaving in August 2021

August brings a new batch of movies and shows to Netflix, including a prequel film set in the world of The Witcher, all seven seasons of 30 Rock, several compelling documentaries, and plenty of other series, films, and specials. The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf

It’s not season 2 of The Witcher, but this animated feature is set in the same world as the hit series created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich and based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s dark fantasy novels. The film explores the early years of the witcher Vesemir, Geralt’s mentor and fellow monster-killer, and offers a bit more backstory on some of the world’s most famous (and infamous) characters. Divergent franchise actor Theo James provides the voice of Vesemir in the film, with Lara Pulver (Sherlock) as Tetra, Graham McTavish (Outlander) as Deglan, and Mary McDonnell (Battlestar Galactica) as Lady Zerbst.
