Yellowstone: “No one wanted to end” reveals one of the stars in the Western series – News Series

The early end of “Yellowstone” was not desired by anyone according to Luke Grimes, the interpreter of Kayce Dutton in the Western series.

In an ideal world, Yellowstone fans are expected to wait for season 6 of the program. Kevin Costner would never have left the cast of the series, and John Dutton would still be alive. In reality, things are unfortunately not so simple.

The end of Yellowstone is not a real end

After a long media soap opera, Kevin Costner decided not to participate in the filming of the fifth season of Yellowstone. Disputes with the creator of the Taylor Sheridan series, but also incompatibilities of planning with the shooting of his Horizon films, are at the origin of this decision.

The departure of Kevin Costner had the consequence of leading to the premature end of the series. While several seasons were planned, Yellowstone's broadcast ended last December after five seasons. The history of the Western series will nevertheless be extended by several spin-offs centered on surviving members of the Dutton family.

A new tackle addressed to Kevin Costner?

One of these spin-offs will notably be centered on Kayce Dutton, embodied by Luke Grimes. The American actor recently revealed in an interview with the magazine People that no one in the series team wanted the end of Yellowstone

According to him, “Most actors” (Everyone apart from Kevin Costner?), But also producers and channel managers would have liked to see the broadcasting continuing beyond season 5. In a previous interview, Luke Grimes had already suggested that the departure of Kevin Costner made it possible to appease the atmosphere of filming the last episodes of season 5.

There is no doubt that the departure of Kevin Costner left Taylor Sheridan any other choice. Failing to have been able to extend the broadcast of Yellowstone, the American screenwriter will soon unveil no less than four derivative series: Y: Marshals (the series on Kayce) and another spin-off on Rip and Beth, a suite entitled The Madison with Michelle Pfeiffer, and a prequel taking place in 1944.

All Yellowstone series can now be found in full on Paramount+.
